Pina colada is a refreshing beverage, which is perfect for summer and spring celebrations. This tropical cocktail is sweet and rich in taste, making it a terrific treat for the whole family to enjoy. In Spanish, the word “Pina” means pineapple, and “Colada” means strained.

Pina colada is a Puerto Rican beverage made up of the cream of coconut or coconut milk, pineapple juice and rum (alcohol). In our recipe, we will use coconut milk. Pina colada without rum (alcohol) is referred to as “Virgin Pina Colada.” It is usually served with either pineapple wedge, maraschino cherry or both.

There is something magical about Pina colada because when you take the first chilly sip of this delightful beverage, you’ll get to observe the serenity of the environment. This cold and creamy beverage is all you need to beat the heat. So, when life offers you a pineapple, make a Pina colada!!
