Chicken piccata is one of the easiest recipes withholding a fancy name. It has made it grounds in Italian cuisine and has become the top-notch choice of foodies throughout Turkey. Chicken piccata has its grounds in Italian cuisine. Piccata is an Italian word meaning “larded.” The word piccata denotes the addition of fat to prepare this dish. Whenever you use the word “chicken piccata,” it implies that you first have to slice, sauté, and then serve the meat with sauce.

Without further ado, let’s go right into the recipe.

Ingredients

1. Chicken Breast, boneless (split two breasts into halves) - 2
2. Salt - to taste
3. Black Pepper - to taste
4. Ginger Garlic Paste - 4 tsp
5. All-purpose flour (Maida) - for coating
6. Unsalted butter - 6 tablespoon
7. Olive oil - 5 tablespoon
8. Lemon juice - ⅓ Cup
9. Chicken stock - ½ Cup
10. Thyme - ¼ Cup
11. Fresh Parsley or Coriander - ⅓ Cup

Directions

1) Season chicken breast with ginger garlic paste.

2) Mix the basic seasoning of this recipe that includes salt, black pepper, and flour. Dredge chicken breast thoroughly in flour mixture until well coated. Shake off the excess flour.

3) Now melt 2 tbsp. of butter and 3 tbsp. of oil over medium heat in a large skillet.

4) Add 2 pieces of chicken upon sizzling. Let it cook for about 3 minutes. When it's browned, flip and cook the other side for 3 minutes as well.

5) Remove the chicken breast from the skillet and transfer it to the plate.

6) Again melt 2 tbsp. of butter and 2 tbsp. of olive oil in the pan. When it starts to sizzle add 2 more pieces of chicken breast into the pan. It will approximately take the same amount of time to cook.

7) Remove skillet from heat and transfer the chicken on to the plate.

8) For the sauce (use the same skillet), add lemon juice, stock, and thyme.

9) Put the previous pan again on the stove and bring it to boil. Scrape the pan for extra flavor.

10) Simmer for about 5 minutes by placing the chicken back into the pan.

11) Remove the chicken from the pan and put it into a platter.

12) Add the remaining 2 tbsp. of butter into the sauce you have made and whisk vigorously.

13) Over the chicken, pour hot sauce and use fresh parsley or coriander for garnishing.

VARIATIONS THAT YOU CAN DO:

You can add more salt and black pepper in the sauce according to your taste buds.

You can also add green chilies chopped to garnish chicken piccata.
